Police Search For Woman Who Grabbed Baby By Throat
Police are searching for a woman who grabbed a one-year-old child by the throat at a pharmacy in London.
It is understood that the woman, believed to be in her 60s, approached a woman pushing her child in a pram. The child's mother reportedly told police that the woman leaned into the pram and said "that baby would rather be dead" and grabbed the child by the throat.
Police said the child was uninjured due to the mothers quick reaction. In CCTV footage of the incident the woman, wearing a white, rad and grey striped poncho and deerstalker hat, can be seen walking up to the pram and reaching in. The mother is then seen to immediately push her off and take the pram away.
The suspect was then escorted from the store on The Strand by a security guard.
Police want to question the woman over the incident and are appealing for anyone who may know her or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
