Appeal After Man Goes Missing In Coventry

Police are appealing for information after a man went missing following a night out in Coventry.

Ozeivo Andrew Akerele, 24, left his home on Richmond Street on Friday evening to go out with friends.

The Nigerian-born man, who has only been in the country for a few weeks and is currently studying at the city's university, was last seen at the Iglu Club on Spon Street around 3.30am on Saturday 31 January.

Known as Ozi, he is described as black, 6' 2" tall and of a slim build. He was last seen wearing jeans, blue and white converse trainers and a grey/black zip-up jacket.

Two Arrested In Connection With Serious Attack In Basildon

Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious attack in Basildon in the early hours of New Year's Day.

A 22-year-old man suffered a fractured skull and jaw during a disturbance outside a kebab van parked in Nethermayne, at around 3am.

The victim was riding his motor scooter home from a party when he stopped for food. While queuing, he asked a man to calm down and was later assaulted.

A 27-year-old man from Wickford and a 24-year-old man from Basildon were arrested on Friday 6 February, 2015.

They have both been released on bail pending further enquiries until 20 April.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Kier Appoints New MD Of Its Facilities Management Business

Construction firm Kier has appointed a new managing director of its facilities management business.

Experienced sector specialist Steve Davies joins from Compass Group UK & Ireland where he held the position of managing director of support services, and brings with him over 20 years' experience across both the public and private sector.

Currently chairman of the Building Futures Group, Mr Davies graduated with a BSc in Sports Science from Manchester Metropolitan University and is a fellow of the Institute of Directors and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

He has worked with Serco, Reliance Facilities Management and BT's major joint venture company Monteray, as well as holding senior posts in local government.

Police Dig Up Pub Patio In Search For Missing Landlady
Police investigating the disappearance of a landlady in Cambridgeshire in 1997 are digging up the patio of her former pub. Deborah Steel, 37, was landlady of the Royal Standard in Ely, Cambridgeshire, when she disappeared on 28 December 1997. Police have said that Ms Steel's disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Seven Arrested On Suspicion Of Terrorist Fundraising
Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorist financing offences, according to the Metropolitan Police. They were arrested at four separate addresses in London, Cardiff and Coventry at approximately 6am on suspicion of being concerned in the funding of a terrorist organisation, and laundering the proceeds of crime for that purpose.
