Arthur Hutchinson Loses Appeal

British courts do have the right to impose whole-life tariffs on prisoners who are jailed for life, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled.

Triple killer, Arthur Hutchinson, who received a whole life sentence, has had his human rights battle thrown out by a European Court.

Hutchinson was found guilty of murdering a couple and their son at their daughter's wedding.

Judges at Strasborurg court said they were "satisfied that the justice secretary's power to release a whole-life prisoner was sufficient to comply with Article 3" of the European Convention on Human Rights.
