British Soldier Charged With Child Rape In Austria
A British soldier faces charges of raping and abusing a child in Austria.
Reports reveal that a soldier, allegedly with the 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, was arrested on 29 November in Tyrol, Austria.
It is alleged the unnamed soldier was found in the bedroom of a six-year-old girl after entering the house while drunk.
It is understood that the child's father found the soldier half-naked in his daughters room after being woken by a noise.
According to a report by the BBC, prosecutors in Tyrol have said the soldier is facing a charge of rape and sexual abuse, and if found guilty could face up to ten years in jail.
The soldier is due to appear in court on 10 March.

German authorities have confirmed the first cases of the H5N1 flu virus in two dead swans found on the island of Reugen on the Baltic coast. This follows on the deadly virus being reported in Austria, Greece, Italy and Iran, which have recently reported cases. Earlier, Austrian officials reported two cases in swans found dead near Graz.
