British Gas Cut Prices By 5%

British Gas has announced it will cut its prices by 5% from 27 February, reducing the average household bill by around £37.

It follows an announcement of a 3.5% cut by E.On last week.

British Gas, the UK's largest domestic energy supplier and part of the Centrica Group, said that the price cut reflects the fall in the wholesale price, but added that wholesale prices were "volatile" and would be keeping prices under review.
