Leaders Warn PM TV Debates Will Go Ahead

Party leaders are warning PM David Cameron they will go ahead with televised debates even if he refuses to participate.

It follows an announcement by the Prime Minister that he would not take part in any televised debates unless the Green Party was included.

It is understood Labour, the Lib Dems and UKIP have now written to Mr Cameron saying that they intend to proceed with the debates, even if he chooses not to take part.

Despite the warning, Downing Street is understood to have said that any multi-party format must include the Green Party.
