Man Arrested Following Fatal Collision In Surrey

A man has been arrested following a fatal collision on the M25 in Surrey.

A female pedestrian was walking along the motorway at around 3am on Sunday when she is believed to have been hit by a car.

The incident occurred near the slip road at Junction 13 at Staines-upon-Thames.

The male driver of a black Volkswagon Golf, which was found nearby, has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following an injury road traffic collision and providing a breath test.

He remains in custody.

Police are appealing to witnesses to contact them.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.

Driver Dies Following Collision With Tree In Surrey
A man in his twenties has been killed after his car collided with a tree in Surrey. He was travelling eastbound on the A323 Aldershot Road at around 11pm on 25 May in Guildford. The car left the road and collided with a tree near the junction with Holly Lane. The driver suffered serious injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Unlicensed Minicab Driver Jailed For Killing Passenger
An unlicensed minicab driver has been jailed for eight years for causing the death of a passenger. Matab Uddin, 59, of Blackshots Lane, Essex was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and fraud. The court heard how police were called on Sunday, 17 November 2013 at about 1:45am to reports of a man injured on Essex Road.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Woman Following Bus Fall
A woman has died in hospital after falling on a route E3 bus on Chiswick High Road, just after 13:30 on Tuesday, 18 August. The 77-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 17:00.

Up To Four Suffer 'Life-Changing' Injuries In Troop Carrier Collision
More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".
