Salmonella Detected In Aldi Chocolate

Aldi has recalled 200g packs of Choceur Treasures because salmonella was detected in one batch of the product.

The packs, with a best before date of 1 September 2015, have been on sale in Aldi stores in the Midlands region only.

The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

Vicks Sprays Recalled Over Bacteria Fears
P&G (Proctor & Gamble) is recalling bottles of Vicks Sinex nasal spray in the UK, the US and Germany, after small amounts of bacteria were found in the product. The precautionary measure is being taken following the discovery of B. cepacia in a small amount of the product made at the company's plant in Gross Gerau in Germany.

Man Jailed For Contaminating Painkillers
A man who was found guilty of contaminating painkillers with anti-psychotic drugs has been sentenced to 18 months in prison. Christopher McGuire, 30, of no fixed address, was jailed after tampering with five packs of Nurofen Plus.

Aldi To Create Over 400 Jobs In Wales
More than 400 jobs are to be created in Wales by supermarket chain Aldi, it has been announced. The retailer has confirmed it will invest £59.5m to construct a new regional distribution centre and offices in Cardiff. The project is being supported by the Welsh Government.

30 Women Recalled For Breast Screening Over Doctor Concerns
Up to 30 women are to be recalled for breast cancer screenings after five patients treated by the same doctor developed the disease. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust has identified the group of 30 women from a total of 626 that were seen between 2011 and 2014. It is understood that the women need "urgent appointments" for reassessment.
