MPs Agree To Vote On Smoking In Cars Ban
A ban on smoking in cars could come into force on 01 October 2015, pending on a vote by MPs.
The proposed law will ban smoking in cars with children under 18, or failing to prevent another person smoking, and will carry a £50 fine.
MPs are due to vote on the law ahead of the next General Election.
Birmingham Named In Top 10 Cities List
Travel handbook company Rough Guide has named Birmingham as one of the top 10 cities on the world.
The city joins Johannesburg, New Orleans and Wellington on the list, described by the firm as "a comprehensive and reliable rundown of the best places to travel in 2015".
Birmingham was described as having cultural variety, excellent shopping and a buzzing live music scene and is the only UK city to make the list.
MP Criticised For Sending 40,000 Christmas Cards
Nottinghamshire MP Robert Jenrick has been criticised for sending 40,000 Christmas cards to constituents.
According to reports recipients of the cards have said that the cards are not value for money, and that they are a way seeking votes ahead of the next general election.
It is unknown how much was spent sending out the cards, however, Mr Jenrick said that he paid for the cards out of his own pocket.

The government has announced plans to introduce a partial smoking ban, following reports of a Cabinet row over the proposals. The plans, introduced as part of the Health Improvement Bill, will see smoking banned in all public places in England, but there will be exemptions for pubs, which do not serve food and private members clubs.

11 Year Low For Card Fraud
Money lost due to credit and debit card fraud has reached an 11-year low, falling to £341m last year, a drop of 7%. The drop has been attributed to a 41% fall in fraudsters impersonating people to obtain or use credit cards and a 24% drop in fraud committed by cloned credit cards.

Research launched today by Travelex reveals consumers are still relying on credit and debit cards abroad, and last month Brits stumped-up £58m in extra charges at ATMs and in retail outlets abroad. This is the equivalent of sending 20,000 families of four on a week-long holiday to the Med.
