Firefighters To Hold 24-Hour Strike

Firefighters in England are to hold a 24-hour strike later this month, it has been revealed.

The action will take place on 9 December.

It is part of a long-running dispute with the UK Government regarding pensions.

Since the row started in 2011, this will be the 48th staging of industrial action by members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU).

It is understood the industrial action involves changes that would see firefighters working until they reach the age of 60, rather than 55, as well as concerns over lower pensions.
