Woman And Child 'Critical' After Suspected Arson Attack
A woman and a child are being treated in hospital after a suspected arson attack in Kidderminster.
Fire crews were called to a flat above a shop in Horsefair at about 22:00 on Thursday.
According to reports, the woman was carried from the burning building by a firefighter, who then immediately began administering first aid and trying to resuscitate her.
A child, believed to be the woman's son, was also rescued from the flat.
The woman and boy are said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
Two other people at the scene also needed treatment for smoke inhalation.
It is understood that a number of neighbours were moved from the flats due to the fire.
Police said an investigation is now underway.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

Man Admits Double Killings
The Crown court is to pursue charges of murder against a 28-year-old man held over the deaths of two sisters. Mohammed Ali has already admitted the manslaughter of 22-year-old Yasmine Larbi-Cherif and her 20-year-old sister Sabrina, who were found stabbed in their Birmingham flat last year.

Grading Proposed For Speeding Drivers
A system of grading for those caught speeding on the UK's roads has been proposed. Drivers caught speeding could be given more penalty points on their licence depending on how much over the speed limit they are. Ministers are looking at a scheme under which the worst offenders would get six points on their driving licence.

A survey carried out by parenting forum Mumsnet has called for sales reps to be banned from maternity wards in the UK. 82% of those who reponded to the survey said that reps from the promotion company Bounty, should not be given access to new mothers on maternity wards.
