Flood Warning Extended To Friday

Continuing heavy rainfall has seen flood warnings extended until Friday.

According to Natural Resources Wales, rivers in Carmarthenshire and south Pembrokeshire are at risk of flooding.

A yellow warning for heavy rain and strong winds have been issued by the Met Office.

E-Cig Fire Destroys Transit Van

A van has exploded after an e-cigarette that was left charging inside the vehicle caught fire.

The Ford Transit van was destroyed in the fire as it sat in the driveway of a house in Rotherham.

The van was owned by a kitchen fitter, who was at a customer's home at the time.

Ched Evans To Train With Sheffield United

Convicted rapist Ched Evans is to train with Sheffield United, according to a report by the BBC.

Evans, 25, was freed in October after serving half of his sentence for the rape of a 19-year-old woman in 2011.

Mr Evan has always denied the charge.

It is understood that while there has been no decision over his possible return to the club, he is due to train with the club later this week.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

More than 1,000 firefighters across Merseyside have begun a four-day strike in protest over planned job cuts. Another four-day stoppage is scheduled to begin two hours after the first one ends.

PFA Head Apologises For Comparing Ched Evans Case To Hillsborough Disaster
The Head of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has apologised to the families affected by the Hillsborough disaster for comparing their campaign to Ched Evans case. He told Sky Sports: "I never intended to cause any offence with what I said about Hillsborough. "If people feel that way about it then I can only apologise.

Sheffield United Urged To Reconsider Evans Decision
Sheffield United have been urged to reconsider its decision to allow convicted rapist Ched Evans to train with the club. Sheffield Central MP Paul Bloomfield said if the club proceeded it would send "a disturbing message to young people and victims of sexual violence".

Convicted Rapist Ched Evans Released From Prison
Convicted rapist and former Sheffield United footballer Ched Evans has left prison after serving two and half years of a five year sentence. Evans, 25, was convicted in April 2012 for the rape of a 19-year-old woman in a hotel in May 2011. According to reports, Evans left Wymott Prison in Lancashire at about 05:30 on Friday morning.
