Mayor Of London Hopes To Extend Poppy Display
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has called for the ceramic poppy display to be kept at the Tower of London.
The display, called Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red, represents each British and colonial service person who died during World War One.
It is due to be displayed at the Tower in 12 November, by which time there will be 888,246 ceramic poppies on display.
Mr Johnson said that due to the popularity of the exhibition, he hoped to explore if it could be kept at the site for longer.
It is understood Mr Johnson is in discussions with Historic Royal Palaces, the agency which runs the Tower of London, about extending the exhibition for a further week.
