Unite Union Warn Rolls-Royce Against Compulsory Redundancies

Following the announcement on Tuesday that a total of 2,600 jobs are to be cut at Rolls-Royce, Unite the union has issued a warning, saying that the firm will have to "work hard to justify" the job losses.

The union said: "They must be clear with us we won't be seeing people sacked and then consultants and agency workers coming in to fill the gaps left behind."

In response the company has said that it will "work hard to achieve reductions by voluntary means".
