Clemency for six Britons convicted of Saudi bombings
The six British men who were convicted of killing a man in a spate of terror bombings in Saudi Arabia have been released and repatriated back to the UK.
The men, who landed at Heathrow Airport this afternoon, were released after receiving "clemency" from the Saudi royal family.
James Cottle, Peter Brandon, Les Walker and James Lee were sentenced to 18-year prison terms in 2001. Two others – Scot Sandy Mitchell and William Sampson – received death sentences.
All had consistently proclaimed their innocence and claimed that videotaped 'confessions' had been made under duress.
The series of bombings in Saudi Arabia culminated in November 2000 with the death of Briton Christopher Rodway.
The bomb campaign which had been ongoing for nearly a year at the time of Mr Roway's death, injured several Western ex-pats.

UK embassy in Riyadh evacuated over terror threats
The UK embassy in Riyadh has been closed today over fears that more terror attacks are on the way. In an interview with Radio Four today, the British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sir Derek Plumbly, said that the embassy would be closed to the public for a few days.

King Of Saudi Arabia Dies
Suadi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulazia has died in hospital. Abdullah had ruled from 2005 and is believed to have been suffering from a lung infection. His half-brother Salman has been confirmed as the new King of Saudi Arabia.

BAE Systems To Announce £1.9bn Deal With Saudi Arabia
British defence giant BAE have announced it has signed a £1.9bn ($3bn) deal with Saudi Arabia to supply Hawk trainer jets. Trade union Unite have now said that the news means 218 jobs at the East Yorkshire factory where the aircraft is made will now be saved.

BA suspends flights to Saudi Arabia over 'security concerns'
British Airways has announced that it is to suspend all flights to Saudi Arabia "due to heightened security concerns in the region". BA said that it would suspend flights until further notice follows discussions earlier today between the airline and the British government's Department for Transport.
