Three Arrested In Residential School Abuse Inquiry

Police in Wales have arrested two women and a man in connection with allegations of physical abuse at a residential school for young people with learning disabilities.

A 62-year-old man and the women, aged 49 and 60, have been arrested by Dyfed-Powys Police on suspicion of child neglect as part of an investigation at Womaston Children's Home and School at Walton, near Presteigne.

The school took children aged between 11 and 19 with learning disabilities, including autism and challenging behaviour, and was run by the charity MacIntyre.

It closed on 31 August.
