Farmers Stage Iceland Milk Price Protest
Famers have staged a protest outside a supermarket's distribution centre in Cheshire.
Around 100 members of the group Farmers for Action demonstrated outside Iceland's depot in Warrington, to protest over a drop in milk prices.
It is understood that the supermarket has dropped the price of four pints of milk from £1 to 89p.
The group has accused the supermarket of "devaluing milk" and causing "massive problems" for farmers.
Ground-Floor Flats Evacuated In Exeter Flooding
A number of elderly and disabled people had to be evacuated from their ground floor flats due to flooding in Exeter on Thursday night.
Fire crews attended 55 incidents across the area due to heavy rainfall.
Lightning also struck a house in Plymouth sending masonry into the street.
Ladysmith Infant School was forced to close for the day due to the torrential rainfall.
Three Injured As Bus Crashes Into Bungalow
Three bus passengers received minor injuries after an East Yorkshire Motor Services bus left the road and crashed into a bungalow near Hull.
The bus crashed through a garden wall and smashed into the front of the property in Northgate.
No-one was in the house at the time.
Police say that the road remains closed and diversions are in place.

London Bus Drivers Postpone Strike Action
Planned strike action by London bus drivers has been postponed as an "act of goodwill". The strike action was due to take place on Friday and Monday, with drivers walking out across the city's 18 bus companies. Unite the union has called on the bus companies to accept an invitation for talks.

Supermarket Milk Supplier Announces Closures
Almost 500 jobs are at risk after supermarket milk supplier Daisy Crest announced plans to close two of its dairies. The proposed closures involve a glass bottling dairy at Aintree, Merseyside, which employs 220 people, and a site at Fenstanton in Cambridgeshire employing 250 people.

E.ON Increase Prices
E.ON has today announced that it will increase its prices by 11.4% for electricity and 18.1% for gas, with dual fuel customers seeing a rise of 15.2%, effective from 13th September.
