Police Search For Suspected Bank Robber Potentially Covered In Red Dye

Police Scotland are searching for a man, who may be covered in red dye, suspected of robbing a bank in Edinburgh.

Police say that a branch of RBS in Craigentinny was robbed at about 16:45 on Monday.

It is understood a man robbed a substantial quantity of cash before making off on foot on Restalrig Avenue.

It is believed a security device amongst the stolen money was activated, most likely covering the cash and possibly the robber in a red dye.

The suspect is described as a white male aged around 25, approximately 6ft 3in tall, of medium or slim build.

He was wearing a blue baseball cap, light grey coloured body warmer with hood attached, dark baggy trousers, dark footwear and black gloves.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the robbery or anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the suspect fleeing the bank to contact them.
