Ebola Screening Underway At Heathrow
Ebola screening for passengers arriving from affected countries has begun at Heathrow airport.
According to reports on day one of the new procedure, "a few passengers" were asked to complete health questionnaires and had their temperatures taken at Terminal 1.
The procedures are to be extended across Heathrow and Gatwick airport and the Eurostar terminal by the end of the week. It is estimated the procedures will cost approximately £9m in the next six months.
It is understood Border Control flagged up "high-risk passengers", who arrived into Heathrow on a flight from Liberia en route to Brussels. These passengers were then passed on to Public Health England workers, who performed the screenings.
