Police Appeal For Witnesses To 'Horrific Attack' In Glasgow

An investigation into a "horrific attack" in Glasgow last week has been upgraded to a murder inquiry following the death of Stephen McGinlay.

Mr McGinlay (26) was attacked by three men on St George's Road in Glasgow at about 17:50 on Thursday 02 October.

He died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Sunday.

Police say they are searching for three men, aged in the 20s, who are known to have arrived at the scene, and left, in a dark coloured car.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the attack to contact them.

Police Hunt Gang After Glasgow Attack
Police are hunting a gang of men after a street brawl left three men seriously injured. Officers are treating the attack on a 30-year-old man as attempted murder. He is being treated for serious injuries at the Southern General Hospital. The incident happened in Blairdardie Road, Knightswood, at about 8.40pm on Monday.

A new "Superhospital" in Scotland will cost taxpayers £842m, it has been revealed today. Local health board NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) have recommended public funding as opposed to private for the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

Police Trace Mother Of Dead Baby Girl
Police have traced the mother of a dead baby girl whose body was found on a cycle track in Port Glasgow last month. The baby's body was found in a holdall by a jogger on September 26. Strathclyde Police confirmed that they had traced the 22-year-old mother of the baby.

Police Officer Arrested Over Uefa Cup Riots
A police officer has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in a violent football riot in Manchester. The man arrested, an Essex Police officer, was off-duty at the time of the clashes in Manchester city centre, as Glasgow Rangers were playing Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Cup Final last May.
