Thai Police Want To DNA Test Koh Tao Island
Thai police have announced they want to carry out DNA tests on every male on the island Koh Tao, as part of their investigation into the deaths of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller.
The bodies of Ms Witheridge and Mr Miller were found on the island on 15th September.
Thai police have interviewed a number of people in connection with the murders, but so far no arrests have been made. It is understood that DNA samples collected at the scene did not match any of the suspects that police had questioned.
They now wish to DNA test every male on the island, including boat drivers and fishermen who may have visited the island at the time of the British tourists deaths.
Post-mortem examinations found that Ms Witheridge (23), from Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, died of head wounds, while Mr Miller (24), from Jersey, died of blows to the head and drowning.
It is understood resident's on the island have raised around £15,000 as a reward for information leading to a conviction, and Thai police are also offering a reward of around £4,000 for information leading to arrests.
