New Acting PCC Announced

The current treasurer for the office of the police and crime commissioner, Steve Pick, has been announced as the acting Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for South Yorkshire.

It follows the resignation of Shaun Wright, who had come under increasing pressure to step down in light of a report into child sexual abuse in Rotherham.

Mr Wright had been head of children's services in Rotherham between 2005 and 2010.

Mr Pick will hold the post until a by-election for the new permanent PCC is held on 30 October.
