7-Year-Old Shot In Head In East Sussex
A 7-year-old girl is "gravely ill" in King's College Hospital after being shot in the head.
Police said the girl was found at a house in Northiam, East Sussex, suffering a gunshot wound to the head at about 16:00 on Thursday.
It is understood that a man was found dead in a car parked outside the house, from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A firearm has also been recovered.
According to reports, police believe that the man shot the girl, before turning the gun on himself.
The man is thought to be the young child's father, but police have not confirmed their relationship.
The scene remains cordoned off.

Former Head Teacher Jailed For Rape
A 66-year-old former head teacher has been been sentenced to 15 years for raping and indecently assaulting an under-age girl. Malcolm Ford, of Bell Street, Southport, committed the offences more than 20 years ago, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court was told. Ford was the head of a primary school in the Tameside area at the time.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of 35-year-old man Mark Roberts. Mr Roberts (35) was found suffering head injuries on Balidon Road, Weston-super-Mare in October.
