Barclays Consider Closing Cardiff Office
Barclays have announced that it is considering closing its Cardiff office, raising fears for jobs.
Some 100 staff work at the centre in Callaghan Square, the areas central business district.
It is not yet known how many jobs would be lost if plans to close the centre go ahead.

Ministers Must Be 'Better Informed' On Police Cuts - NAO
The Home Office needs to be "better informed" on how to reduce police force funding in England and Wales, according to a recent report. The National Audit Office (NAO) has revealed funding decreased by £2.3 billion (25%) to police and crime commissioners between 2010-11 and 2015-16.

Postmasters call for safeguard of rural offices
Postmasters are calling for urgent action by the government in order to safeguard rural post offices. The National Federation of Subpostmasters held a rally in London on Wednesday, while a petition of four million names was handed into 10 Downing Street. The NFSP general secretary Colin Baker warned that this was now "crunch time" for post offices.

Barclays to cut 1,200 jobs
Barclays has announced plans to cut 1,203 jobs as part of a two-year plan to change its UK retail business. The job cuts will come from the closure of two call centres in Bexleyheath, Kent and Clacton, Essex, along with a processing centre in Dudley.

The Met Office has officially opened a new forecast centre in Exeter dedicated to space weather. It is hoped that the Space Weather Operations Centre will help protect the UK's economy and infrastructure from severe events caused by space weather.
