Start-Up Food Firm To Create New Jobs
Thirty five new jobs are to be created at a new niche and healthy snack food factory in Gwynedd.
Start-up firm Brighter Foods is to establish its base in Tywyn and said they hope to capitalise on the demand for gluten free, sugar reduced, low fat, diet control and sports nutrition products.
The new company is to establish itself not far from the Halo Foods Factory, which shut down in December, with the loss of 105 jobs.
Supported by the Welsh government, Brighter Foods say that they hope to be able to expand in 2015 and created more new jobs.

Grimsby factory closure sees 600 jobs axed
Around 600 jobs are to go at Unilever after the company revealed that it had failed to find a bidder for its Grimsby factory. The plant, part of Unilever Ice Cream & Frozen Food division which makes Birds Eye Frozen Food, will close following an 11-month review "involving extensive discussions with employees".

Calls For Tougher Junk Food Advertising Laws
More than eighty percent of adults believe junk food advertising can make it difficult to feed children healthy food, a new survey has claimed. Consumer watchdog Which? Found 83% of consumers surveyed wanted the government to become more involved in controlling the marketing of unhealthy food to children. In total 2,000 people were questioned.

Tourists warned of risks of bringing food into the UK
The risks and controls prohibiting people bringing food into the UK from EU countries have been highlighted today as part of a public awareness campaign launched today. The current rules mean that it is illegal to bring meat and milk-based products for personal use back into the UK from outside the EU.
