Sweets Found To Be Contaminated With Prescription Drugs

Police have launched an investigation into a contaminated batch of sweets found to contain a prescription drug.

It is understood that "a standard prescription tablet, commonly prescribed to both adults and children" was found in a product at a Nestle factory in Newcastle.

According to a report by the BBC, the discovery was made last week before any of the tainted batch had left the factory.

Nestle reported the discovery to police and the Food Standards Agency.

Nestle have reassured customers that their products are "completely safe".
