Murder Investigation Launched After Boy Pulled From Burning Car Dies

Police in Hampshire have reported the death of a five-year-old boy from injuries sustained in a car fire.

Tommy Sheldon, from Southampton, was pulled from a burning car on 11 August in Merdon Castle Lane, Hursley, Hampshire by a passerby.

He died on Monday.

His mother and six-year-old sister are still being treated in hospital. They had been found lying next to the car.

Police investigating the fire have now launched a murder inquiry following the death of the child.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out later today.

Burnt Car Park Body Was A Woman Aged In Her 40s
The badly burnt body found beneath burning rubbish in a Sainsbury’s car park has been identified as a female. A police dog handler discovered the fire during his routine patrol around 3am on Tuesday morning. The body was discovered after the fire brigade had extinguished the blaze.
