Man Rescued From Burning Yacht
RNLI rescuers have saved a lone yachtsman from a burning boat off the North East coast.
The RNLI reported that the 36ft vessel "burst into flames" at about 05:45 off Seaham, Co Durham, with boat crews in the area spotting thick plumes of smoke. They alerted the emergency services.
The yachtsman managed to escape the vessel and got into a life raft before being airlifted to safety by an RAF rescue helicopter.
It is understood that he was uninjured in the incident.

Two people have been rescued after their boat caught fire while on the River Ouse in East Yorkshire. Lifeboat volunteers rescued the pair after they abandoned the burning vessel, which was reported as "floating freely" Blacktoft towards Reedness, East Yorkshire.

Three killed as fishing boat capsizes
Three men have died after a Belgian fishing vessel capsized, 11 miles south of Beachy Head, East Sussex. The vessel had a crew of four on board and one 19-year-old man who was spotted clinging to the upturned hull was rescued. He is being treated for shock and hypothermia in hospital.

A stricken cargo ship, whose crew was rescued on Monday, has sunk in rough seas off the Devon Coast. The Ice Prince sank around 12.45am on Tuesday about 26 miles off Portland Bill. It was being monitored by two tugs at the time. Some 20 crew members were rescued from the vessel on Monday night.

Coastguard call off search for missing fisherman
The Coastguard have called off the search for a fisherman who had been missing following the sinking of a fishing vessel off the Cornish coast on Saturday evening. Falmouth Coastguard ended the search yesterday at 1pm, having conducted a nine-hour operation, covering 400 square miles of sea.
