Bodies Of Woman And Child Found In Lancashire
Police have said they have found the bodies of a 26-year-old woman and 22-month-old boy at a property on Princess Way, Euxton.
It is believed that the woman and child are mother and son.
A postmortem examination is due to be carried out later today.
Police say that are treating the case as a murder investigation but that they are not looking for anyone else.
"We are still in the very early stages of this investigation but we are conducting a number of inquiries in order to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths," Det Supt Eddie Thistlethwaite of Lancashire Constabulary said.

Sixteen arrested in drugs raids
Fourteen people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in a series of coordinated raids in Lancashire, Merseyside and Northern Europe. The raids took place around 5:30am on Tuesday morning and involved more than 200 police officers, including search and entry trained officers, specialist firearms officers, dog handlers and detectives.

Mother Of Baby Abandoned In Arcade Charged With Attempted Murder
The mother of a child found abandoned in the toilets of an amusement arcade in Southport, has been arrested. The newborn baby was found by staff at Silcock's Amusements in Merseyside, last Thursday. The child is being cared for by staff at Ormskirk Hospital, Lancashire later, who have named her April.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

Arrested Over Missing Lancashire Girl
Police investigating the disappearance of a Lancashire teenager girl who disappeared two years have arrested a man on suspicion of murder. Paige Chivers, who would now be 17, has been missing from her home in Bispham since August 23, 2007. She disappeared following a family argument and has not been seen since.
