Suspected Human Remains Found In Roman Cave

Two men exploring an old Roman copper mine have uncovered what are believed to be human remains.

Dyfed-Powys Police say that the discovery was made at Llanymynech caves near Welshpool in Powys.

A forensic examination is to be carried out on the bones to establish how old they might be.

It is understood that a number of Roman artefacts have been found in the mine including a horde of silver coins and a number of burials have been uncovered in and around the mine.
