Baroness Warsi Resigns Over Govt Policy On Gaza

Baroness Warsi has resigned from the Foreign Office over the Government's policy on Gaza.

Posting her resignation letter, Lady Warsi said: "With deep regret I have this morning written to the Prime Minister & tendered my resignation. I can no longer support Govt policy on Gaza."

She letter posted her resignation letter, addressed to the Prime Minister. On it she states that the decision "has not been easy", but says that the government's "recent approach and language during the current crisis in Gaza is morally indefensible".

Foreign Office warns against Gaza travel
The Foreign Office has warned Britons against travelling to the Gaza Strip, following the murder of Yassar Arafat’s cousin this week. Mousa Arafat, a former Palestinian security chief, was shot dead after gunmen stormed into his home in Gaza City on Wednesday. His son, Manhal Arafat, was also kidnapped.

Letter bomb suspect remanded in custody
A man has been remanded in custody, charged with the recent series of letter bomb attacks in the UK. Miles Cooper, 27, a primary school caretaker from Cherry Hinton near Cambridge, was arrested on Monday afternoon. He is charged with 12 offences under the Explosives Substances Act and the Offences Against the Person Act.

Ukraine political crisis continues to deepen
Ukraine's Parliament has today passed a motion of no confidence in the country's Prime Minister. The vote of no confidence followed allegations that the Prime Minister, Viktor Yanukovych, was involved in election fraud. Two hundred and twenty MPs voted in favour of sacking Mr Yanukovych and supported calls to set up of an interim government.

Arafat passes away in French hospital
The Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has died at a French military hospital in the early hours of this morning. The 75-year-old Palestinian leader is understood to have died from a brain haemorrhage after slipping into a coma on November 3.
