Figures Show A Rise In Retail Sales
Sales in the retail industry increased by 3.6% compared to June 2013 according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The quantity bought also increased by 4.5% compare to the same time last year.
In June 2014, all retail sectors showed estimated rises in the quantity bought year-on-year.
Following a four month period of disinflation, the average prices of goods sold in June 2014 showed no change compared with June 2013 after a fall of 0.7% in May 2014.
The amount spent online increased by 13.4% in June 2014 compared with June 2013 and decreased by 0.1% compared with May 2014.

UK House Prices Increase By 10.2%
UK house prices rose by 10.2% in the year to June 2014, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). House price annual inflation was 10.7% in England, 3.5% in Wales, 6.0% in Scotland and 4.9% in Northern Ireland. House prices are increasing strongly across most parts of the UK, with prices in London again showing the highest growth.

Home Office Figures Show Drop In Met Taser Use
Use of Tasers by the Metropolitan Police Service (MSP) has fallen by almost 12% in the first six months of the year, new figures from the Home Office reveal. The figures show that between January and June 2014 officers used the Taser 992 times, down from 1124 times between July to December 2013.

Inflation Drops To 0% In August
Inflation fell to 0% in August, new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed. The UK's national inflation rate fell from 0.1% in July, as measured by the Consumer Price Index. The ONS figures also show that the Retail Prices Index (RPI) rose from 1.0% in July to 1.1% in August.
