Man Killed In Birmingham Shooting

A man has been shot dead in Birmingham, West Midlands Police have confirmed.

Two other men are being treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the same incident, which happened at around 19:30 on Wednesday on Stratford Road, Sparkbrook.

It is understood that one of the injured men suffered a gunshot wound, while the second suffered stab injuries.

The road remains closed.

A major investigation is underway.

Mother And Son Shot In Salford
A 29-year-old woman and her seven-year-old son have been shot at their home in Salford. Police have reported the mother and son suffered leg injuries in the incident in Gillingham Road, Eccles, on Monday night. It is understood their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The operators of a plastics factory in Glasgow where nine people were killed in a gas explosion have been fined £400,000 for health and safety breaches. The penalty was imposed on ICL Plastics and ICL Tech at Glasgow's High Court on Tuesday, following a two-day hearing.

Man Stabbed To Death In Manchester
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a man has been stabbed to death and another has been injured following an attack in the city. Both men, who are believed to be in their 20s, were found by emergency crews on Parry Road in Longsight, shortly after 00:40am this morning (Thursday).
