McDonald's Launches Job Recruitment Plan For Under-25s

Fast food chain McDonald's has announced a job recruitment plan specifically aimed at under-25s.

The firm hopes to boost staff levels by 8,000 throughout the year, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary in the UK.

Around 70% of the posts are expected to go to first-time workers and people under the age of 25.

McDonalds opened its first restaurant in 1974 and the company said in a report, 'Serving the UK: McDonald’s at 40', that it has contributed over £40bn to Britain's economy and supported the creation of 1.5 million jobs.

Chancellor George Osborne said: "It is fantastic news that McDonald's is creating 8,000 new jobs here in the UK, especially with the majority going to first-time workers and under-25s."
