Armed Robber Escapes From Open Prison
An armed robber has absconded from an open prison for the second time in two years.
David Blood, 48, who according to police poses a threat to the public, escaped from Ford Prison in West Sussex on Thursday.
Blood, who was serving a life sentence, also escaped prison in April 2012. He was found two months later and arrested in Norton Cannes, Cannock.
Blood was given a life sentence in 2003 after he was convicted of a post office robbery in Sutton Coldfield in 2000, with a number of other men.
Pc Stephen Reed said: ""Because of Blood's record, we have to consider that he could pose a threat to the public.
"I would urge anyone that sees him to contact us on 999 rather than approaching him."
Blood is described as 6ft 1in tall, of small build with brown eyes and cropped black hair.
