Two charged over 'human catapult' death
Two men have been charged with manslaughter over a tragic 'human catapult' stunt which killed a 19-year-old student last year.
Kostadin Yankov, a Bulgarian who was studying at Oxford University, died on November 24 whilst taking part in a human catapult event at Middlemoor Water Park, Woolavington, Bridgwater.
Mr Yankov had been thrown from a replica medieval catapult towards a safety net. Unfortunately, he landed someway short of the net and sustained serious injuries. He died a short time later in hospital.
The two men, a 44-year-old Bridgwater man and a 32-year-old from Burnham-on-Sea, have been bailed to appear before Sedgemoor Magistrates on July 23.
