MoD Send Plane To Help Search For Missing Sailors

A C-130 Hercules aircraft has been sent to help search for four British sailors missing in the Atlantic.

The men were sailing the 40ft Cheeki Rafiki from Antigua to the UK when it started to take on water on Thursday.

A search for the men was called off on Sunday due to sea conditions, however following a request from the British Government it was resumed today.

It is understood that conditions have improved slightly but conditions are still not ideal.

Families of the men launched a campaign for the search to continue, after it was announced that it was to end.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that it was sending the Hercules plane to assist in the search.
