Rise In UK House Prices
Property values have risen by 8% in a year to March, according to the figures of the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The annual increase is slow compared to a 9.2% year-on-year price rise to the end of February, however according to ONS figures the price increase in London was 17% excluding the capital and in the South East of England, prices rose by 4.7%.
The prices in Northern Ireland increased by 0.3% and 0.8% in Scotland. In the East of England property prices were up by 6.6% annually, and 6.1% in the South East of England.

UK Inflation Remains At Current Rate
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation remained unchanged at 3.1% in September. Including a higher proportion of housing costs, the Retail Prices Index (RPI), fell back slightly to 4.6%.

UK House Prices Increase By 10.2%
UK house prices rose by 10.2% in the year to June 2014, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). House price annual inflation was 10.7% in England, 3.5% in Wales, 6.0% in Scotland and 4.9% in Northern Ireland. House prices are increasing strongly across most parts of the UK, with prices in London again showing the highest growth.

England & Wales House Prices Rising
Property values have stabilised and last month even showed a small rise - with London houses topping the poll. The July data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 6.7%, which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £166,798. The monthly change from June to July is an increase of 0.4%.

Prescriptions Prices To Rise In England
Prescription charges in England will rise by 20p from April 1, bring the cost to £7.85, the government has announced. The British Medical Association has however called the charges “unfair”, and called for prescription to be free, as the are in the rest of the UK.

15 Year High In Adoption Figures
A 9.8% rise in adoptions in England and Wales in 2012 has been reported by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). According to the ONS, a total of 5,206 children were adopted, up from 4,740 in 2011, representing the largest annual rise in 15 years.
