Mother Arrested Over Death Of Newborn Baby
A 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of overlaying -a term which is used when a child suffocates after a person lies on them in bed- for the death of her newborn baby girl in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
Paramedics went to the property after a call over a "medical emergency" and took the newborn to the Stoke Mandeville Hospital where the baby died.
A spokeswoman of the South Central Ambulance Service said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, ambulance officer and the Thames Valley and Children Air Ambulance. The baby was taken to hospital in a very life threatening condition."
No other adults are believed to have been in the property at the time.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that they are investigating the "exact circumstances surrounding the baby's death".

Missing Baby Found 'Safe And Well'
A nine-month-old baby girl who was reported missing from her home in Glouchestershire on Monday has been found safe and well. Maylayah Delaney had been reported missing by her mother shortly before lunch-time on Monday. Police have confirmed that a man from the West Midlands is helping them with their inquiries.

Dyfed-Powys Police have seized a family dog in South Wales after the death of a six-day-old-baby-girl. Officers were called to the property in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire at around 8:30 on Tuesday. The animal, an Alaskan Malamute, is similar to a husky and is not a banned bread.

Newborn Found Abandoned On Doorstep
A newborn baby has been discovered abandoned in a carrier bag outside a flat in south-east London. According to police, the one-day old baby was found by children, on their way to school on the doorstep of a third floor flat in Winterslow House, Flaxman Road in Brixton, at 8.25am on Wednesday.
