Three Kayakers Found Dead Named

Three kayakers found dead in the River Tyne in Northumberland after they went missing were two brothers and their cousin.

Police were alerted after brothers Darren Thorpe, 41, Mark Thorpe, 39, and their cousin Gavin Bradley, 36, all from South Shields, were reported missing at 11.00pm last Sunday when they failed to return home.

The RAF, Coastguard and Police Marine Unit joined other emergency services in the hunt for the trio.

The first body was recovered from the river by a nRAF helicopter at Riding Mill at 05:00, the second at Corbridge at approximately 06:20 on Monday, while the third was found at Riding Mill, at 13:15.

Northumbria Police said inquiries are continuing.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
A body has been discovered in Sutton Mill by police investigating the disappearance of Jennifer Hayman. The body was found at 18:00 on Thursday. Formal identification has not yet been made, but police said that Ms Hayman's family have been informed of the find. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Human Remains Found During Search For Missing Woman
Police Scotland have confirmed that human remains have been found during the search for missing 19-year-old Hazel North. A search had been ongoing for Ms North, who was from Dunfermline and has been missing since 04 March. Police have not yet been confirmed if the remains found in Dean Park are those of Ms North.

Body found in missing Suffolk women enquiry
Police divers investigating the murder of a woman reported as missing have found a second body. A spokesperson for Suffolk Police confirmed that the body of a woman has been found in water near to Copdock Mill, outside Ipswich. The naked body was found at about 11:30am on Friday morning near the public weighbridge at Copdock Mill.

Police Investigating If Woman Was Trying To Save Dog When She Was Hit By Train
British Transport Police investigating the death of a woman have said that she may have been trying to save a dog when she was hit by a train. The 22-year-old woman was struck by a train close to Ainsdale station near Southport, Merseyside at about 15:00 on Wednesday. Transport police said a dog was also found dead at the scene.

Police Appeal Over Missing Brothers In Sunderland
Police in Sunderland have appealed for help in tracing three brothers who have gone missing from their foster home. The three brothers – Remus, 15, Janko, 12, and David, 10 – failed to return their their foster home as expected on Monday evening.
