'Skull Cracker' Charged Over Armed Robbery

Michael Wheatley, also known as the 'Skull Craker', has appeared at East Surrey Magistrates Court today accused of armed robbery,

The 55-year-old, who was on the run from an open prison in Kent, was arrested in London following an armed raid on the Chelsea Building Society in Sunbury, Surrey, on Wednesday.

He was also charged with the possession of a firearm or imitation gun and being unlawfully at large.

Wheatley has been remanded in custody and is to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 29th May.

'Skull Cracker' Michael Wheatley Spotted In London
Officers were called to an address in Twickenham on Monday, in relation to a sighting of escaped armed robber Michael Wheatley, known as the "Skull Cracker" for pistol-whipping his victims. Police searched the area, however they did not find the 55-year-old criminal who is now the object of a major manhunt.

New Appeal Issued Over Ola Raji Murder
Police have issued a new appeal for information in the murder of Ola Raji on Tuesday, 21 April 2015. The 21-year-old was found in Surrey Grove, Peckham at 22:30, by police responding to reports of gunshots. Mr Raji had been stabbed and shot. He died shortly after arriving at hospital.

The first drought order in England and Wales since 1995 has been granted to Sutton and East Surrey Water. The order, which is valid for six months, limits or prohibits non-essential uses of water in the region.

Man pleads guilty to murder of Pc Beshenivsky
One of the five men accused of murdering Pc Sharon Beshenivsky, 25-year-old Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah, has pleaded guilty. The other four defendants, Yusuf Abdillh Jamma, 20, Raza Ul-Haq Aslam, 25, Faisal Razzaq, 25 and his 26-year-old brother Hassan Razzaq, deny murder.

Wife Remanded Over Spouse's Murder
A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of her estranged husband in Surrey at the weekend. Sally Challen, 56, of Coverts Road, Claygate, appeared before Staines Magistrates' Court today, charged with the murder of her husband Richard Challen. The 61-year-old was found dead at his home in Claygate, near Esher, Surrey on Sunday.
