Criminal Climbs Over Ferris Wheel In Prison Protest
Notorious gangster Domenyk Noonan has been arrested after he climbed 100ft onto a Big Wheel to protest against plans to send him back to prison.
The 49-year-old said his actions were a protest against plans to recall him to prison, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The gangster climbed up the 197ft ferris wheel in Piccadilly Gardens, at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Mr Noonan spoke to the Manchester Evening News from his protest via a moblie phone: "This is the scariest thing I have ever done in my life.
"I want the police to stop harassing me, even the probation service over the last three days.
"They are threatening to recall me to prison."
Mr Noonan who was on licence as part of a nine-and-a-half year sentence for hiding a gun in the bonnet of his car, said to the Manchester Evening News paper that he broke his licence conditions after a "stupid argument over the washing-up" with a friend at the address he is required to stay at under the terms of his licence and after that, he went to another friend house.
The gangster came down from the wheel six hours later and was immediately arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
