Two Girls Excluded From High School Over Teacher Murder Plot

Two teenage girls aged 14 and 15 year who were arrested over an alleged attempt to kill a teacher at Cwmcarn High School, have been permanently excluded.

The pair were released under police bail after being questioned last week over their behaviour at the school, near Newport in South Wales.

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, possession of a "bladed article" on school premises and conspiracy to murder. The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

The chairman of the school's governing body Gary Thomas said in a letter sent to pupils' parents that "there are clear measures, policies and protocols in place to ensure that everyone is safe and everyone knows how to report any concerns."
