Banksy Re-Appears In Bristol

Controversial street artist Banksy has re-appeared on Tuesday in his birth-city of Bristol, where a new artwork has been found in a plate bolted in an exterior wall of the struggling Broad Plain Boys' Club.

Youth club leader Dennis Stinchcombe took Banksy piece, Mobile Lovers from the building, which he hopes to sell to help finance the club, which needs to rise £120.000 to remain.

A smaller copy of the original, which shows a couple embracing while they are checking their mobile phones, has been put in its place.

Mr Stinchcombe said people can see the original work inside the club, in return for a donation, until Thursday lunchtime when he is going to talk to Bonhams auction house about selling it.

It is not clear whose property the wall is, and despite speculation that it belongs to Bristol City Council a spokesman said he was unsure.

Meanwhile, Mr Stinchcombe said that he would refuse the local authority if they ask him for return the artwork because, "the council don't like graffiti."
