New 'Garden Cities' Announced
The deputy Prime Minister has announced a plan for three garden cities, each with more than 15,000 homes.
The garden cities are to be built in an effort to ease what is described as a "chronic" housing shortage.
Nick Clegg has said that the cities will contain, "high-quality homes in thriving new communities".
The sites of the new garden cities has yet to be decided, but it is understood that they will be funded from an existing pot of £2.4bn.
Councils will now be invited to raise any concerns they have over the garden cities scheme.
