Michael Nyman Composes Hillsborough Memorial Symphony

The celebrated British composer Michael Nyman has composed an hour-long Hillsborough memorial symphony based on the music he was recording on the afternoon of the tragedy.

According to reports, The Symphony No 11 will be performed at the city Cathedral by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and will be conducted by Josep Vicent during the opening of 2014's Liverpool Biennial on 5 July.

This will mark 25 years since the FA Cup semi-final tragedy.

Kathryn Rudge, a local-born mezzo soprano, will reportedly sing the names of the 96 Liverpool football fans who lost their lives in the accident.
