Essex Plane Crash Victim Named
Simon Chamberlain, a 29-year-old father-of-one from Harlow has been killed along with the pilot when the Soviet YAK 52 light aircraft they were traveling in, came down on Saturday afternoon near Chelmsford in Essex.
Police said they were not yet in a position to name the pilot, who was also from Essex.
The family said in a statement: "Lizzie, his wife, has lost her best friend and soul mate. His son, Charlie, who will be two years old in August, has lost his father. And his parents, Paul and Steph, have lost a loving son. We love him more than anything the world."
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is investigating the accident.

Six killed in Brighton motorway smash
Six people have died following a road accident on a section of motorway north of Brighton yesterday. The four-car collision occurred at around 4.30pm on the A23 – the main London to Brighton road – at Pyecombe. Three people, including a two-year-old child, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

13-Year-Old Among Five Arrested Over Stabbing Death
A 13-year-old girl is among five people arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the stabbing of a 42-year-old man. The teenager is being held in connection with the death of Darren Kelly, of Basildon, Essex, alongside a 15-year-old girl, two boys aged 16 and 17 and a 20-year-old man.

Police have announced that they have disrupted a plan to flood the UK with several million pounds in counterfeit currency. The announcement comes after officers from the City of London Police Central Detective Unit raided three premises in and around east London.

New Courts To Hear Minor Traffic Offences
Minor traffic offences will now be prosecuted in new dedicated traffic courts, following completion of pilot schemes in nine areas. The new dedicated courts are being established to try and free up magistrates and cut delays in the criminal justice system. Currently some 500,000 minor motoring offences going through British court each year.
