British Man Dead Following Yacht Fire In The Caribbean
A murder investigation has been launched after a British man was found dead on a burnt out yacht in the Caribbean on Wednesday.
John Edward Garner, 53, was found on a life raft with leg and head injuries near his burning yacht approximately 15 nautical miles off the coast of Buccament Bay, St Vincent, in the Caribbean.
He died later at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, in Kingstown.
Police in the Caribbean and the Grenadines are waiting for the results of the post-mortem examination.
The detective leading the investigation said he had flown into the island in January with his Norwegian wife, Heidi Hukkelaas: "She had left to go back to Norway and he had been getting his boat seaworthy. It had been in the marina for repairs only a few weeks before."
