RMT Leader Funeral Held In London

The funeral has taken place of RMT union leader Bob Crow, who died aged 52 on 11 March.

Thousands of people joined friends and colleagues who lined the route of the funeral procession for the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) general secretary, who's coffin was was carried in a horse-drawn carriage from his house in Woodford, east London.

Mr Crow's funeral service was a private affair.

A larger, special commemoration event is planned for May Day.

Underground chaos looms as drivers threaten strike
London Underground drivers on two lines have threatened to take strike action on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, threatening chaos on the Tube system. The Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) have said that the two proposed 24-hour strikes will affect services on the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines.

Rail strike plan shelved
The RMT union has suspended a rail strike that would have hit workers trying to get home to see the England game against Sweden on Tuesday, June 20. However, plans for a strike on June 25, which would clash with the World Cup second round game if England win through to play as winner or runner-up in Group B remain in place.

Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) members working on the London Underground have today "voted overwhelmingly" to strike action on June 10 - a date which coincides with the European and London mayoral elections. The union said that action had been taken following the employers’ "failure to negotiate seriously on pay and conditions".

RMT chief quits London transport board
The general secretary of the RMT, Bob Crow, has tendered his resignation from the board of Transport for London (TfL) after falling out with Lord Mayor Ken Livingstone. The row between Mr Crow and Mr Livingstone was over the RMT 24-hour strike scheduled for next week.
