Hospital Ward Shut In C. Diff Outbreak

Part of the Raigmore Hospital in Inverness has been closed following an outbreak of Clostridium difficile, commonly known as C. diff.

The hospitals ward 5c is closed to new patients following confirmation of two new cases of the superbug, NHS Highland has confirmed.

It is understood that this is the second time the hospital has been affected by an outbreak of C. diff, with a medical admission ward closed last year.

CQC Raise Serious Concerns About Essex Hospital Trust
The Chief Inspector of Hospitals has recommended Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust should be placed into special measures.
